| 英文描述 | Ingestion of contaminated rice containing seeds of the weed AESCHYNOMENE INDICA by 2-4-month-old swine caused a vestibulocerebellar disorder, followed by recovery 2-14 days after feeding was stopped. This conditon was reproduced, and there was focal degeneration in the cerebellar and vestibular nuclei at necropsy. It appears that the toxin produces functional derangements of the vestibulocerebellar system followed by alterations in the microvaculature in the cerebellum and vetibular nuclei. This weed is present in irrigated rice in Asia, the Pacific Islands, Australia, Africa, Puerto Rico, and Brazil. |
